Sunny Quintero is a photojournalist and street photographer based in Mexico City.. She was part of the staff of photographers at the “Excélsior” mexican newspaper for 10 years, also she has collaborated with the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City, Publimetro, the Ministry of Public Function and as a freelance photographer for the Xinhua News Agency, her work has been published in national and foreign media such as the Courrier International, Fox News, El Clarín, Alamy, Europa Press, among others. She has participated in various group exhibitions in Mexico, New York, London, Italy, France, India, Vienna, Poland, Budapest and the United Arab Emirates, and has three individual exhibitions in Mexico City. During the last few years she has dedicated herself to developing her vision within Street Photography, which has led her to obtain some recognition in various competitions such as: Leica Street Photo, Eyeshot Open Call, Fujifilm Moment Street Photo Awards, Urban Photo Awards, Paris International Street Photo Awards, Budapest International Photography Awards , MX Street Photo Fest, Women Street Photographers. She is the founder and curator of the Mexican Women Photographers community, a space to make visible the street photography of Mexican women inside and outside the country, with which she has held 3 annual exhibitions, the last of them became itinerant and exhibit at the Museum of Mexico City, Festival las Artes Transforman, Festival Iberoamericano Tomar la Calle Foto Fest, bringing together the work of 86 finalist photographs, and simultaneously she organize another collective exhibition at the Museum Archive of Photography “The Woman Behind the Camera: Photojournalism of Yesterday and Today”, also doing curatorship and museography.
